DHI hair Transplant

DHI Hair Transplant (Direct Hair Implantation) is a more advanced hair transplantation method where the hair follicles are removed from the donor part of the body one-by-one using the first-rate extractor, before directly being placed on the balding areas of the head.

DHI Technique

DHI, or Direct Hair Implantation, is a technique used for hair restoration. It involves the use of a special tool called a CHOI PEN, which is a handheld device with a small, vibrating needle tip that varies in thickness between 0.6mm and 1mm.

During the procedure, the CHOI PEN is used to create tiny punctures in the scalp, through which individual hair follicles are implanted. These hair follicles are carefully selected and harvested from a donor area, typically the back of the head, where the hair is typically more resistant to thinning.

The implanted hair follicles are then left to heal and grow, resulting in a fuller, more natural-looking head of hair. DHI is a minimally invasive technique that can be performed on an outpatient basis, and it has a high success rate for restoring hair growth in areas of thinning or baldness.

DHI: Direct Hair Implantation is a technique that uses a special instrument called a "Choi Implanter Pen" to directly implant hair follicles into the scalp. This method is considered less invasive than traditional hair transplant methods and does not require a surgical incision. It also allows for greater precision in the placement of the hair follicles.

Choi Pen: It's a handheld instrument used in DHI hair transplantation method. The device has a special tip that creates a small hole in the scalp, into which a single hair follicle is inserted. This method can achieve a natural-looking result.

DHI Hair Transplant Advantages

One of the advantages of DHI hair transplant method is that it does not require shaving the whole head, only the area where the hair follicles are going to be extracted. This can be beneficial for people who do not want to shave their entire head, as it allows them to maintain their existing hair style and length.
Other advantages include:

  • Less invasive: The DHI method does not require a surgical incision, which means less pain and a faster recovery time for the patient.

  • More precise: The DHI method uses a special instrument called a "Choi Implanter Pen" which allows for greater precision in the placement of the hair follicles, resulting in a more natural-looking result.

  • No linear scar: Because no surgical incision is required, there is no linear scar left after the procedure.

  • Faster procedure: DHI is considered a faster procedure than FUE, as it does not require the extraction of the hair follicles.

  • Faster recovery: The recovery time after a DHI procedure is faster than traditional methods, patients can return to work and normal activities within a few days.

  • High survival rate: The DHI method has a higher survival rate of hair follicles as the hair follicles are immediately implanted into the scalp.

What Cause Hair Loss?

There are many possible causes of hair loss, including genetics, hormonal changes, medical conditions, and certain medications. Some of the most common causes of hair loss include:

  • Androgenetic alopecia (male or female pattern baldness): This is the most common cause of hair loss and is typically inherited. It is caused by the interaction of hormones and certain genes, which causes the hair follicles to shrink and produce thinner, shorter hairs over time.

  • Telogen effluvium: This type of hair loss occurs when hair follicles enter the resting phase of the hair growth cycle and stop producing new hairs. It can be caused by physical or emotional stress, major surgery, childbirth, drastic weight loss, or certain medications.

  • Alopecia areata: This is an autoimmune disorder that causes hair loss in patches. It occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks the hair follicles, causing them to shrink and stop producing new hairs.

  • Trichotillomania: This is a disorder that causes people to pull out their own hair, often as a result of stress or anxiety.

  • Nutrient deficiency: A deficiency in certain nutrients, such as iron, protein, or vitamins, can lead to hair loss.

  • Medical conditions: Certain medical conditions, such as thyroid disease, lupus, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), can cause hair loss.

  • Medications: Some medications, including chemotherapy drugs, blood thinners, and certain types of antidepressants, can cause hair loss as a side effect.

Hair Transplant For Women

Hair transplants are a viable option for women experiencing hair loss or thinning hair. The procedure involves taking healthy hair follicles from one part of the scalp and transplanting them to areas of the scalp where there is hair loss. A hair transplant can help to restore the appearance of a full head of hair, which can have a positive impact on a person's self-confidence and overall quality of life.

What Causes Hair Loss for Women?

  • Genetic predisposition: Female pattern baldness, also known as androgenetic alopecia, is the most common cause of hair loss in women. It is caused by a combination of genetics and hormones.

  • Hormonal changes: Pregnancy, menopause, and other hormonal imbalances can cause temporary hair loss in women.

  • Medical conditions: Certain medical conditions, such as iron deficiency anemia, thyroid disorders, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), can cause hair loss in women.

  • Medications: Some medications, such as antidepressants, blood thinners, and birth control pills, can cause hair loss as a side effect.

  • Hairstyles: Tight hairstyles, such as ponytails and braids, can cause a type of hair loss called traction alopecia.

  • Physical or emotional stress: Physical or emotional stress can cause hair loss, known as telogen effluvium, as the body sheds hair that was in the resting phase.

Advantages of Hair Transplant for Women

  • Natural-looking results: Hair transplants can produce very natural-looking results, as the transplanted hair is your own and will grow and blend in with your existing hair.

  • Long-lasting results: Hair transplants can provide long-lasting results, as the transplanted hair follicles are resistant to the hormones that cause hair loss.

  • Correction of specific hair loss patterns: Hair transplants can be used to correct specific hair loss patterns, such as receding hairlines or thinning at the crown of the head.

  • Improvement of self-esteem: Hair loss can be a source of insecurity and low self-esteem for many women. A hair transplant can help to restore the appearance of a full head of hair, which can have a positive impact on a person's self-confidence and overall quality of life.
